Ashley’s Story

I was drawn to nutrition at a young age as a competitive athlete, skiing across the world. I learned that fueling my body affected my performance as an athlete as well as my mental well-being on a day to day basis. In my early twenties, I was driven to turn my passion for nutrition into a career when my world flipped upside down with the diagnoses of Type 1 Diabetes and Hashimoto’s Disease. As I navigated these autoimmune diseases, I had to relearn how to exist in my body amid prescription medications and constant fluctuations. After my diagnoses, I learned as much as possible about alternative medicine and nutrition to improve my autoimmune symptoms. I came to understand food as medicine that has helped me reclaim my energy and power. Looking back, I would not change my experience of chronic illness as it has given me immense insight, empathy, and passion to help people thrive and feel good in their bodies again. It is my goal to use my knowledge of holistic health to empower others on the path to wellness so they can be successful in all areas of their life. I look forward to working with you!

Ashley Anderson, MScN, is a holistic nutritionist who is especially interested in autoimmune diseases, women’s health, and pediatric nutrition. She received her Master’s in clinical nutrition at the National University of Natural Medicine. As a holistic nutritionist she focuses more on individualized care, rather than just a standardized approach. Holistic Nutrition refers to supporting the body as a whole: mind, body and spirit. With this method she looks at the underlying root causes, rather than just treating the symptoms. Based on a complete individualized physical and mental health analyses, she and her client come up with a personalized nutrition plan that best supports their well-being and goals.
